Adjusting your life to cultivate a better version of yourself is something you may find that you need to do to allow for better progress. Life has a way of wearing us down and lowering our inhibitions, and before we know it, we are a veritable shadow of our former selves.

1. Cut Out Bad Friends

Toxic friends can be a catalyst for a chaotic lifestyle. If you feel that some of your friends have led you toward things you would not ordinarily gravitate toward, and are disrupting and causing disorder in your life, then you must get rid of them or at least minimize their contact. Cutting off bad friends can be difficult, as after all, they are our friends but to live a happy and successful life you absolutely must do it.

2. Find Help

If you have been suffering from addiction issues, which unfortunately many do, then it is imperative to your health that you address these. Addiction issues often spiral out of control, and before you know it, you are unable to function without drugs or alcohol.

3. Choose a meaningful Job

Oftentimes we settle for less, and if you are working a menial and repetitive job but are qualified for more, then leave it and look for something more meaningful.

Do not undersell yourself. Life is short, and there is little that one can derive from working a laborious job when they are qualified and able to do far more.

It may seem daunting leaving your job, but in the long run, it will be a decision that will benefit you. Of course, try and find other jobs before you leave, but if your job is completely time-consuming and offers no time for you to find another job – then leave it!

4. Get a support buddy

Find someone who you trust, a good friend is always best, who can act as a support system to you when things get tough. The person can help and guide you and help to keep you on the right path, and in the process you may end up helping them as well. It does take a genuine friend for this role so be sure to choose wisely.

5. Go Back to College

Many of us drop-out of college for one reason or another. If you hate your career and the life choices you have made, it is never too late to go back to college. Going back to college as a mature student can give you the freedom that you desire and enable you to hit the reset button and do whatever you want with your life.

Education can be paramount to success, and it is never too late to re-educate yourself and start all over again. Check out college or university courses near you, and now many institutions offer online courses. Pursuing them online will allow for much more freedom and you can work at your own pace.

Now you know a few ways that you can reshape your life and become a better version of yourself. If you feel you have lost yourself, it is never too late to go searching for who you really are, you just have to decide, commit and DO IT!
