Figures like Napoleon Hill (author of &#8220;Think and Grow Rich&#8221;, and &#8220;The Law of Success&#8221;), Esther/Abraham Hicks (Author of &#8220;The Law of Attraction&#8221; and various other works), Bob Proctor, Rhonda Byrne, and others. We will also identify just how New Age Spirituality has allowed itself to become a perfect grift, for gurus with questionable intentions to enter the space and take advantage of those in a more vulnerable and desperate situation. Those who are in desperate need of wealth, those who are in desperate need for relationships, health, happiness, etc etc. New Age/New Thought exists in many areas of the self-help industry too, and although hard to initially spot, once someone familiarizes themselves with the teachings of New Thought and the overall philosophy it isn&#8217;t hard to begin seeing the patterns. We will also explore the connections between New Age gurus and Multi Level Marketing companies. A connection that seems very prevalent within many of the big figures in this industry.&#8221;</p>

<p>Let me explain.</p>
<p>You decide you want to start running at 6:00AM every morning. You are excited to finally make the decision and can’t wait to get up in the morning to go for your first run.</p>
<p>You wake up with the alarm at 5:45AM. And now you do the most dreadful of things. You know you shouldn’t do it. But you do it anyway. Habit. Oh the devil, the good old enemy. You start to THINK.</p>
<p>“Oh I should probably sleep a little more. Its 5:45AM and I have to go for a run at 6:00AM anyway”</p>
<p>“Oh I slept a little late last night and if I don’t get enough sleep I won’t be able to function at work today”</p>
<p>“The weather is kinda cold”</p>
<p>“I can go for a run in the evening anyway”</p>
<p>“I will compensate for today and run twice the miles tomorrow”</p>

<p>You think. And you rationalize. You sugarcoat your excuses with rationality and logic. It makes you feel good about yourself. It creates a façade that it is somehow best not to do what you decided must be done. The internal dialogue is draining, time-consuming, and leads to inaction.</p>
<p>How many times has it happened that you decided something and didn’t follow through? How many times did you rationalize your inactions and indecisions?</p>
<p>Let’s say in an alternate reality, you made the decision (after a lot of thinking) and after that you stopped thinking.</p>

Just as&nbsp;Dandapani says in the video below, since our young school days we are always told to <a href="https://fitnish.com/focused-zone-mind-muscle-connection/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">focus</a>, and to concentrate on something but we are never taught HOW to focus and not get distracted.</p></blockquote>
<p>Many people hear about <a href="https://fitnish.com/buddhist-monk-shares-secrets-meditation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">meditation </a>and think it will help them to focus or to be calmer and not so distracted. While it will do all those things we still need to understand how to apply the <em>focus</em> on the meditation itself. If we don&#8217;t, the result is that when we start to meditate we find ourselves constantly distracted or even rushing through the meditation because we have our &#8216;to do&#8217; lists running in our mind all the time and want to get to it asap.</p>

<p>What we need to do is to rather focus on focusing. It is just like any other habit process, if you want to form a good habit, start small and be conscious about it all the time. So what this means is to ensure that whatever task you are doing, apply your entire focus on it. It will be tough at first, but the more you do it, the better you will become at it until it is second nature. For example, if you are sweeping the floor of a room, focus on doing just that and completing it, rather than sweeping for two minutes then checking your phone, then stirring the pot, then sweeping some more and then making a phone call. Make sense?</p>

<p>I recently came across a really interesting and well written article by&nbsp;<a href="http://www.zenentrepreneur.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Riz Virk</a>, about how life may be one big simulation. I&#8217;m sure we have all heard about the idea that we may all be living in a video game like world, where we aren&#8217;t actually doing anything and&nbsp;the life we lead here is&nbsp;can be compared to a &#8216;dream&#8217;, kind of like in <a href="https://fitnish.com/really-one-religion-philosophy-life-way/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">the matrix</a>.</p>
<blockquote><p><span style="color: #1185f2;">The compelling aspect of the article for me, was how well written it was and how if you really think about it, life does have such astounding similarities to a video game simulation. Just something to think about. Also, philosophy and religious views are included in the article in addition to the natural facets of technology and artificial intelligence.</span></p></blockquote>
<p>Anyway, if this has got you interested, the link to the full article is below. When the movie the Matrix came out in 1999 (yes almost 20 years ago! and the movie is still one of the greatest :p ),&nbsp;there is that iconic scene where the little kid tells neo that &#8220;there is no spoon&#8221;. Most people didn&#8217;t really get what the kid was saying or referring to and Riz explains it so well and simply so I thought I would share that paragraph below, in case, after all these years you are still wondering what that child was going on about.</p>

So much so that I set the paddle on the ping pong “table” and leaned against the table. Of course it was a VR table so it didn’t really exist — I ended up dropping the paddle (actually the Vive controller) onto the floor. As I leaned into the “table” I almost fell over before realizing that there was no table. In other words, to quote from the Matrix, there is no spoon.&#8221;</span></p></blockquote>
